The Cornwall Strut will normally hold meetings at Bodmin Airfield on the last Wednesday of every month. January’s meeting has been moved to Monday 28th January.
Our speaker is Mike Laundy of SKY WATCH Civil Air Patrol
‘To introduce myself, I am Mike Laundy and I have been appointed as Chief Pilot (CP) for the SW area of CAP. My background was as a RAF pilot for 25 years where amongst other things I flew Strategic Reconnaissance Victors, and also had a tour flying covert photo reconnaissance along the Berlin air corridors at the height of the cold war. I spent the second half of my RAF career as a QFI. Subsequent to the RAF I joined the airlines retiring as a dual rated captain on B757 and B767. I then captained a private jet (Falcon 2000) based in Egypt for a couple of years. I have owned several light aircraft and currently fly a Rans S6 ESA based at Westonzoyland in Somerset. For the past 3 years I have been the Unit Chief Pilot for the Somerset Unit of the CAP.’
Join us for the talk and find out about Sky Watch and how they work with the community, perhaps you may wish to join CAP and use your aircraft to provide a valuable service to help others.
The meeting starts at 19.30. Please contact Jay on 01208 821419 if you would like to book a pre meeting meal (18.00 onwards), from Diner 31.
